The Vino Kerin Winery

Lojze Kerin was born in 1981, in the same year as the oldest Kerin’s vineyard. His father, also named Lojze – as every generation of Kerins has one – planted the Blue Franconian grape variety in the vineyard for his first-born son and thus mapped out his life trajectory; he made the first sparkling wine for his daughter Marija from her own vineyard and became Sevnica’s champion with his Blue Franconian wine and built a modern wine cellar for it. Welcome to the Kerin House of the Franconian!

A visit to the Kerin House of the Franconian is an experience that does not offer only wine tasting with innovative ideas from a Blue Franconian graduate with six children, an artistic talent and a Dolenjska agricultural soul, but also self-reflection on values in life. For these Dad’s salamis, which smell so good and melt in the mouth, this potepača cake, which goes together so well with all house wines, so varied that all flavours fall in love with them, still and sparkling, dry and sweet, white to red and red to white, fresh and aged, young and archived, with little or much alcohol, and this laughter, joy, happiness and immeasurable desire, as it only comes from the heart, are all contagious!
