WHAT DOES THE BRAND REPRESENT?
With the protected Tasting Posavje brand, providers in the South-Eastern region want to raise the quality of the regional offer, services, produce and products.
Under the slogan of “fresh-local-delicious”, forces are joined by top chefs, winemakers, brewers and farmers in a region that appreciates local ingredients and goods produced in Posavje.
The providers strengthen gastronomic products throughout the year, especially looking for unique, innovative and sustainable lines related to accommodation and the tasting of top quality food and wines. It all leads to an adventure for discerning guests.
September is called Tasting Posavje Month, featuring many culinary and wine-related events.
In this part of Slovenia, the friendliness of the locals, local communities and villagers is still very genuine. In particular, local suppliers provide a great advantage as the region is predominantly agricultural, having about 4,500 farms with primary produce (including wine and beer), from vegetables and fruits to premium food products of plant and animal origin, from honey, cheese, meats, spreads, oil, vinegar, flour, jam to spirits and juice. The region is thus the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in Slovenia and has the largest number of fish farmers.
Chefs build on the philosophy of the local environment and receive national and international titles (Michelin, Gault&Millau, Vivi - Šola okusov etc.).
International awards are the pride of the increasingly recognisable winemakers of Posavje, awarded at the Decanter, Glass of Bubbly and other national competitions.
An extensive brochure of renowned creators has been published, presenting the best providers in the region. Tomo Jeseničnik signed the photos, Žare Kerin spiced up the design, and the publisher is the Krško Entrepreneurship and Tourism Centre.

The golden hearts from 1 to 5 represent culinary quality at the best restaurants.
The white hearts from 1 to 3 represent the satisfaction of the guests with other culinary hosts, wineries, winegrowing farms and wine shops, breweries, confectioneries etc. Everywhere must be good and heartfelt!
