The Klet Krško Winery

There is merely a trellis here or there in Leskovec, and the village is becoming more urban then the town, but that makes the Klet Krško winery even more special. Where you are not looking for a wine cellar, you will find the largest Cviček wine cellar in the world. Where there is Klet (“Cellar”) Krško, there is no cellar at all. Where there is the Turn (“Tower”), there is no tower at all. Where the winery has been for fifty years, a winery has been since 1770. Where there is a wine cellar, you don’t go down, but up. Where you enter amidst Cviček wine barrels, a staircase leads you to the castle chambers. Where there are 250 year old walls, there is a modern wine gastronomic centre, and in it there are the Legends of the Šrajbarski Turn Castle!
 

Why visit Klet Krško?

You go to a Klet (“Cellar”) and you get into a Turn (“Tower”). Since you like a merrymaker, you get to know the lord of the manor. You visit the Klet Krško winery because of a bottle of Cviček, and you return because of barrel-aged Blaufränkisch wine. In the world’s largest Cviček wine cellar, the barrels keep getting smaller, while the reasons for visiting are growing.

For it no longer only holds one million litres of Cviček, but also tens of thousands of bottles (annually) of other Turn wines. Because “Our Cviček” has given rise to so many top wine stories that it is a wine gastronomic experience to visit Turn!
