Kobal Farm

After the farm owner introduces you to the cows, which don’t care about you, but only about flies, and the lady of the house shows you the garden from which she serves meat products, a surprise awaits you in the cellar. Under an old press, covered by lace, there are leather armchairs so thickly padded that you are only tempted out of them by looking into a silver Rococo mirror, reflecting Kobal’s long and heavily-laden table. Indeed, this is not simply a farm owned by Janko and Andreja (and their daughters Eva Zala and Izabela); it is a thing straight out of a fairy tale!
 

Why visit Kobal Farm?

The Kobal wines have an emphasised Posavje terroir, but a stubborn Primorska soul. A visit to Trnovec is thus not an ordinary tasting experience with lots to drink and little to eat. Therefore, dear visitors, please bear in mind that the wine cellar is the living room of the Kobal family, which is why the housekeeper must first pick porcini, the house winemaker must take Dimitrij, a Weimaraner, for a walk all the way to Blanca, the house confectioner must first finish her homework before baking homemade pastries, and the house sommelier is right in the middle of the most demanding law exams. But this is exactly why there is a soul to it!
