The Ajda Restaurant
Sevnica, known for its salamis, Blue Franconian and Melania, is also worth a detour across the Sava River because of the Ajda. One does not miss surprises or a known chef there, as one can savour known tastes, but in a special, recognisable Ajda refined manner. The Ajda thus offers just the right thing, as what I like is for lunch and what I want is for dinner. Therefore, a beans soup with potatoes is (like) a crackling potica; cold cuts are (like) a Sevnica tasting experience, the house gnocchi are (like) a surprise, and Melania is (like) an exhibit!
Why visit the Ajda Restaurant?
The Ajda’s guests do not only get to eat their fill there every day; the Ajda gives them shelter, a place to invite people to, to hide at, to celebrate at when they take time – when they want something more than what they get every day. There are two things that appeal equally to its guests – the fact that the Ajda allows them to stay in their comfort zone, while requiring that they wear shoes rather than flip-flops, serving them multi-course dinners rather than having them eat standing up, and getting them to pay a little more willingly instead of somewhat less unwillingly. You should therefore go to the Julija Confectionery as it is such an urban place, albeit with a rural charm; to the Hotel Ajdovec because it is so cosy, but with a luxury honeymoon suite; and to the Ajda Restaurant because it is made for the heart, but for one that is as big as you want it to be!
